Last night I finally ran out of my YSL Top Secret Cleansing Balm. I recall wanting to be rid of this product because i thought it was overly fragrant and didn't get all my mascara off... Well.... I am now sad. But its bittersweet because I already have another balm to test out! The Clinique Take The Day off Cleansing Balm! I've heard rave reviews about this cleanser, and its been on the market for sometime now, so its my turn to give it a test. Firstly, i think it's important to discuss the trend of the double cleanse and why it's so important for all skin types. It originated from K beauty aka Korean Beauty Gurus, who are huge aficionados of SPF, and loads makeup and need it all to come off (only to reapply LOL). But, so what is this? Its the concept of cleansing your face with and oil based cleanser followed by a water based cleanser - foamy or creamy ones work too! Dirt and bacteria contain different types of properties that break down and dissolve differently, so why do we think one cleanser can fully clean our skin?! We so wrong.
Oil Based cleansers: Break down makeup / SPF / pollutants 💄 🧴 🦠 Water Based cleansers: Clean out sweat and dirt from pores 💩 💧 so you cannot really have clear skin without both! Its important to keep this order: oil then water - because it wont work the other way 😊 I can already hear the oily skin girls be like: but i'm already oily I dont need this - Wellllll adding a natural oil to your skin will actually help to balance your own oil production! Because your skin will already be under the impression that its oily, and the natural sebum production will be controlled. Let’s face it packing is HARD. No matter what you think you’ve put into your prep, you’ve probably ruined it all by forgetting one thing. Well I am here to help you out with you skincare packing. Here is a check list of things you will likely need during a trip. I know this could seem vague but we should all be using products that fall under these categories anyway. So like just grab a bag and choose the first thing that comes to mind for each item listed below and you’ll have your perfect personalized travel set. Not all trips need all of these, I mean — unless you’re me — you don’t need three masks for a sleepover, so use your judgement, but for a week or more you’ll really want each one of these masks. 😝
This summer I really got into misting my face and achieving that glow. Caudalie is the perfect brand for that. I have to admit I had been sitting on these products for a minute and I’m a little cheesed it took me so long because they are diviiiiine! The Vino Perfect Radiance Serum (above) has a bit of tackiness to it which I love and I apply it before my night cream or spf during the day. (This was an evening routine in the photos). I do love how it keeps make up stuck and I haven’t found I needed to prime afterwards during the day time. And night it’s great because you feel like it’s taking time to soak in and I really like that in a night cream ... every night is enough time for a facial!!! Grapes are the key ingredient in this post and I want to share a few reasons why Caudalie has brought this beautiful fruit into our faces. The serum is derived from ‘Viniferine’ grapevine extract aka sap. See below on how grape sources are extracted. It helps diminish dark spots and illuminate the skin more vitamin C (67%) and kojic acid(4x). The caudalie grape water is so so so refreshing. I actually carry this with me in my backpack everywhere. I spritz it on my face when I feel hot or ugly and instantly feel it sucking my pores back shut and adding glow to my complexion. This water is 100% grape water and totally fine to apply on top of makeup, says it’s for sensitive skin but I love it on mine and I’m combination so it should work for everyone! Me: fresh faced and confident about it!!!
Thank you Caudalie 🍇 Hey guys just a quick tutorial on how I do my brows this summer. I’m loving the soap brows tin right now for making my thin fair brows look thick and bushy. It’s as simple as wetting the soap( yes literally ) with any spray, rubbing a spoolie into it and brushing up. I then use my finger to pull off excess product from the brush and push it over my brows with my fingers. I then use my favorite brow gel to fill in some gaps. The soap brows is sticky so using it first creates a base for the gel to stick to. Finish the look with some mascara and the same setting spray. Et voila you’re ready for 12+hours of activities! If you haven’t noticed...I have seriously been living in this palette and I never expected it to be so wearable. Thank you fad trends for bringing colour and shimmer back to our faces!! About a month ago I purchased the neon green eyeshadow palette and it’s been actively on my counter since. Here’s an office appropriate or sun appropriate (day to more day) look using it along with some of my current other favourite products! Just a note I will apply this face at 7:30am and remove it near 9pm and it stays just as good. Priming and setting is so key for a full schedule. Eyes

Kat Von D everlasting liquid lipstick in outlaw Washing your face is a part of everyone’s day at least once... I HOPE! It took me years of using every drugstore brand cleanser, scrub, makeup remover etc., to finally find something that worked with my skin concerns, did its job and ticked all the right boxes. This for me was La Roche Posay Effaclar gel cleanse for oily skin. My skin type as a teen/young adult was super oily, prone to breakouts and just awful. This cleanser changed my life. It put me into a balance. It didn’t over dry and removed everything from my skin. I always bought the largest bottle and it always lasted over a year. It has an ingredient that i used to worship as a zitty adolescent called salicylic acid. As I’ve gotten older and my skin is changing, my concerns are changing. I do still need oil control but I found La Roche Posay was drying me out and made my skin feel very stiff immediately after washing my face. My slightly older boyfriend was having the same problem with his Kiel’s, so I decided to do something about it. Biossance - Squalane Oil CleanserWith all my research I landed on Biossance Squalane Oil Cleanser. We are so happy with this change. I wrote about Squalane oil in my last post, but i will reiterate it's effects in this cleanser. What I really like about this cleanser is that it removes my makeup. It feels very oily which may seem scary at first - but don't worry its not clogging your pores. This is healthy natural plant based oil so it doesn't cause blockages or breakouts, but rather helps to breakDOWN dirt - how about that?! It also smells like ginger which is different but nice. Dr Brandt - Microdermabrasion for anti-aging I’ve been searching for an easy product with this texture and consistence for so long! It feels like sand! And a lot of these “sandy” feeling products you have available now requires you to combine in your hand or a dish before applying, but this one comes out of a tube ready to use. What I mean by “sand” is that it feels like each particle is going into a pore to actually scrub the gunk out. It helps polish the skin to the silkiest it can get. Silky skin is the best base, it allows proper absorption of serums and creams and even application of make up. Smooth skin also helps reduce fine lines by removing dead cells and encouraging cell regeneration- yessssss. I received this product through a fab fit fun subscription trial box and I was very excited about it. Yves St. Laurent - Cleansing BalmThese are all the rage right now and if i could just do a post on cleansing balms/butters I would but i'm settling for this one as my go-to. The first reason i decided to try this balm instead of others is because I couldn't find any reviews on it and wanted to know everything. First thing to note is that it is scented. Florally and YSL'y - I expected a fragrant product because big fashion houses tend to do that with their signature scents. This doesn't bother me and I don't react to it. With removing eye makeup, you need to start with it over the eyes, leave it while you balm the rest of the face then return to re-remove all the mascara/pencil/shadows. Leaving the balm over it for a minute helps really break down the product and will require less scrubbing which will reduce the stress to the skin. Something to note is that this goes directly on to DRY skin, and wash it off with water. Origins - Checks and BalancesFirstly... I love this name! and this frothy face wash. It is gentle and effective! and smells minty clean and fresh. I am still working my way through the travel size and have the big guy on my list for when i'm done. Its formula is a combination of herbal plants and oils which is perfect for people who have combination skin, as it fights oily areas but also protecting the dry ones. Caudalie - Beauty ElixirThis product is so nice when you want to wash your face but can’t. It may not fit into this post but I think it deserves sone credit. It’s cooling and refreshing and won’t destroy the hard work you put into your makeup. For me I get really itchy especially in the warmer seasons, having something to refresh my skin is so relieving. I will use this throughout the day if I feel the need. It also smells super fancy so I feel instantly new again. I also recommend using this as a toner after having washed your face properly with wash or balm ✨ 😊
