Last night I finally ran out of my YSL Top Secret Cleansing Balm. I recall wanting to be rid of this product because i thought it was overly fragrant and didn't get all my mascara off... Well.... I am now sad. But its bittersweet because I already have another balm to test out! The Clinique Take The Day off Cleansing Balm! I've heard rave reviews about this cleanser, and its been on the market for sometime now, so its my turn to give it a test. Firstly, i think it's important to discuss the trend of the double cleanse and why it's so important for all skin types. It originated from K beauty aka Korean Beauty Gurus, who are huge aficionados of SPF, and loads makeup and need it all to come off (only to reapply LOL). But, so what is this? Its the concept of cleansing your face with and oil based cleanser followed by a water based cleanser - foamy or creamy ones work too! Dirt and bacteria contain different types of properties that break down and dissolve differently, so why do we think one cleanser can fully clean our skin?! We so wrong.
Oil Based cleansers: Break down makeup / SPF / pollutants 💄 🧴 🦠 Water Based cleansers: Clean out sweat and dirt from pores 💩 💧 so you cannot really have clear skin without both! Its important to keep this order: oil then water - because it wont work the other way 😊 I can already hear the oily skin girls be like: but i'm already oily I dont need this - Wellllll adding a natural oil to your skin will actually help to balance your own oil production! Because your skin will already be under the impression that its oily, and the natural sebum production will be controlled.
